Doulas by the Bay was founded in 2009 with a clear mission: to ensure every family feels supported, informed, and cared for during pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. With more than 25 years of experience working with children and families, Shakila has built one of California’s most trusted doula organizations, serving over 3,000 families across Northern and Southern California.
Shakila leads a team of more than 60 employed, certified, and fully vetted doulas. Each doula is Perinatal Mood Disorders Certified, CPR trained, HIPAA compliant, background screened, and covered by Workers’ Compensation and liability insurance. Through ongoing mentorship and continuous training, our team provides warm, reliable, and evidence-based care to every family

With more than 25 years of experience working with children and families, Shakila has built a trusted team of certified, fully vetted doulas who are CPR trained, HIPAA compliant, Perinatal Mood Disorders Certified, and protected by Workers’ Compensation and liability insurance. Her vision is simple: to provide families with safe, compassionate, and reliable care every step of the way.

DOULAS by the BAY is a collective of Birth and Postpartum Doulas and Newborn Care Specialists who are dedicated to supporting families before, during and immediately after the birth of their baby. We accept the following payments: HSA/FSA, Insurance, Fertility Payments (Carrot, etc.)
